What are your thoughts about the ending of the book?

I think the ending was bitter sweet. You have the man finally subduing to his illness and dying, but you also have the boy finding a family to keep moving on.

I think the ending to this book was a perfect fit ending. I think that the man most of all achieved the goal that he wanted. He couldn’t kill the boy and take him into the darkness with him and for that the boy found a group of people that he can now move along with. I think the idea of his father telling him just to talk to him is a cook way of making him feel brave. This kid is the bravest kid I know and I think he’ll be okay. I like the ending of this book.

I thought the ending was a little too...optimistic. I mean doesn't anyone else feel that as soon as the father dies a random man appears out of nowhere and invites the boy to join him? It sounds unrealistic after all the horrors and hardships that the boy has seen in his lifetime. I just didn't think the ending fit the rest of the book.

I like the end of the novel and i believe that it is very fitting. It also shows how the man was able to keep the boy alive. The end of the novel showed how brave both the boy and the man were to fight for each other. I believe that this was the best way to finish this book and to keep the reader interested. It also was a great way for the father to die and the boy to find other people and live his life like his father wanted him too.

The ending of the book i feel could of ended in many different ways. but for the most part this was not that bad at times when i thought the father was going to die he never did. so i was going to happen wether anyone one could help it or not. he pushed himself to his boundries to keep his son alive. then when someone was able to save his son. he went to a better place. The kid has held his self together good for the most part, sometimes i wish he would just die though beacuse he wouldnt shut up.

I think that the ending was pretty good. You knew that the father was going to become sick because of his illness and in this world there isnt the technology of surgery or strong medicine so he was eventually going to die. Also I feel like the son would be fine with the new people because now he is brave after all him and his father have been through.

I agree with Mike Childs, while i loved the ending because it wasn't bleak and terrible, it also was... odd, the man dies and then immediately the boy is scooped up by a stranger with a family, a loving christian wife, and other children to play with. while it would be possible that maybe the man has been watching them and is trying to help the boy out, but it just seems so odd for a guy to pop out of the bushes and just be best friends with the boy.

I enjoyed the book in it's entirety. I thought it was a bit obvious that the man was going to be the one to die, but nevertheless it was a good ending. I'm still unsure as to why they introduced that family at the end. I guess it was to give you a sense of hope for the boy but it still felt unnecessary.

I kind of figured that the man was going to die because his whoel attitude made it seem like he could care less at times and the fact that a whole family knowing that there wasn't many people alive came and took the boy in was surprising.

The ending of the Road was predictable. Just because the dad was sick for a long time and they wasn't going to kill the boy because he was the choosen one. The ending was pretty boring too. Nothing good buig had happen at the end. The father dying is sad for the little son and him now traveling with random people is weird.

I think that this was a very good ending to the story. I feel this way because the man really lived out his life and he knew that it was his time to go. He also deep down knew that there was no way that he could kill his on son. I feel that it was very important that the boy lived because to me it shows great symbolism of how the boy is like Jesus, and Jesus will come again.

I thought the ending of the book was ok. It did not impress me. The way the book was being told I thought something really awesome was going to happen at the end, like something epic. I have mixed emotions about the end. I think it could have been better but I also think it was ok.

Um, I really did not like the end of the book, I think that they could have gone on more about the boy, I knew the dad was going to die when they got to the ocean. I was surprised though about the people coming in to take the boy, or him go with them, I figured he would go on by himself.

Huge fan of the ending. The man gets put out of his misery and the boy gets his dream come true. Then on top of it all you are left with a suspenseful weird man walking toward the boy. Great stuff.

I think that the ending to The Road was a fitting ending to the novel. The man always knew that he wasn't going to be living with his conditions so we see the man teaching the boy all the time but not memory games or that sort but lessons of how to survive. The man taught the boy not to stay at the waterfall or other attractions for more than a day or two, staying in the bunker, where they could live until the food ran out, not building fires so they can be seen, and collecting everything that holds value for their survival. So when the man died it was kind of sad but it was fitting so that all of the training that the father did with the boy wasn't in vain and the boy would be able to survive on his own with or without the group that he went along with.

I hated the ending because I wanted the man and boy to find some sort of salvation at the coast and they didn't. That disappointed me since they were heading to the coast for the entire book. I think it was fitting for the man to die since it was going to definitely happen sooner or later, and I like that the boy went with the other family and wasn't left alone. I wish the author would have included one more chapter to tell about the boy a few years later.

I thought it was the best ending possible. The father needed to die because he was preventing his son from meeting anyone out there that could help them. The father died peacefully, and was not eaten. And the son went to live a much better life than he would have had with his father.

The Road ending was okay because the Man does not have to suffer anymore and go through the pain he was going through. And the boy has survived all of the tough challenges that came his way.

In my opinion this book had a very expected and conservative ending. It was evident throughout the whole novel that the man was ill and that his lust for the seashore would be met. One unexpected twist in my opinion was the group following the Man and Boy.

I thought the nding was dry because en say what happend to the they didnt even say what happend to the boy or if he really was something special .

I thought that the ending of The Road was such a good ending. It didnt leave you out so that we didnt know what happened to the man or the boy. In the ending we know that the man dies of his illness and the boy goes off with a stranger. I agree with Mike Childs that the ending seems kindof weird that a man comes out of nowhere just as the father dies and takes the boy with him.

The Road ending was great the boy did not die like everybody thought and what so great about it is that he is with a good family that cares about him. What makes say they care about him so much is the simple fact that they have been following him during the long journey. Also the boy is now around people in his same age bracket. The boy look like he has a good future ahead of him.

The ending of The Road was very surprising to me. I thought this story was just about two people trying to survive until the end where the man dies and sees the halo above the boys head. That made me realize that the story is not just about survive but a 2nd coming of Jesus.
