Out of all the movies we seen, which movie did you think had the most similarties to The Road?

Did anybody else find the ending a bit odd or out of place? If not, then why do you think it was a fitting ending?

Do you think that the man that came and got the boy knew to come? Secondly, do you think that they saved the other little boy that the main boy saw in that abandoned town?

The end of the road.

The book is coming to an end. Do you think they will make it to the coast? If so do you think there will be a civilization waiting or just more of the same thing?

Well we are almost done with The Road and we finished Brave New World. So I have a question seeing both stories do you think The Road is a sequel to Brave New World?

What is the importance of fire in this novel? In my mind, fire plays two roles--the destruction of humanity and/or the hope to carry on. Fire, and the effects of fire, is seen everywhere in this novel, from the burned out towns to the layers of ash covering everything. Which instance of fire is more influential to the main characters? The fire of destruction or the fire which enables them to carry on?

So far from what we have read in The Road, What do you think about the relationship between the Man and his son? Do you think they have a good relationship? Does the father give the son to much false hope?
