The reason we study world literature is to find out about the world. Most of us know about all the habits of an American but not so much anything outside of our country. When studying world literature you are able to find out what the lifestyle of people is all around the world.

I think the Point in learning World Literature is to study other works of literature of other countries. It is good to sort of take a break from learning deeper into our own and go into areas that might be uncomftorable. Its is to take a footstep into the literature. It is to learn history of another country. I hope to gain a step in to the writings of other authors outside my country. I hope to learn more and more as the year progresses. The problems I think exist in studying World Literature is trying to piut it with our thinking and how we do things in America. Its different in other countries at times.

I agree for the past couple years of English at our school we focus on a certain type of literature. But world literature is open to a larger range of works. It is eye opening to us whom are able to only visual the literary vision of life as an American.

I think by studying world literature there are many stories being written in other countries and past history which we can learn how people reacted and written back then. There are many types of literature written containing country background and religious aspects and some may be flawed depending on the writer. The study of world literature is flawed because when old books are translated differently from what they were originally than it loses its meaning.
