Blogging Project Post #6

Dante believed that his adventures in Hell, Purgatory, and Heaven actually happened. He still writes his story because he wants to share what he learned with the rest of the world. What do you think Dante learned through his journeys in Inferno?

Dante learned that Hell is not a place that you would want to spend your entire eternally. You wouldnt want to live there so just have faith and believe in God so that you will go to heaven. Most people dont care about what they do on earth because some dont believe in heaven and hell but its real and some people will go there and wont go to heaven.

I think Dante learned what not to do in his life to keep him out of Hell. He also learned of the punishments that happen to people for each sin they commit. But I think he may have also learned the strictness of the Catholic Church is on sinning and Hell.

I agree with Mike and Dwayne that Dante learned how to keep himself out of hell and that it is not just burnign for eternity. He learned that by the extremity of your crime you will be punished.

I think that Dante had an eye opener experience. Dante realized and was scared. I think that he learned that hell is miserable and he didn't want to reside there for eternity. He realized that if he did any of these things that he would never be with Beatrice again. I think that this thought scared him. I believe that he wrote this poem to make an emphasis or scare people to make them do good not bad. I don’t know about you but by the looks of Dante's hell I wouldn’t want to spend my life there forever and ever.

i thoink dantes experience inhell led him to realize what might become of him if he were to commit sins of the magnitude found in hell. I think he would seriously reconsider if he were to ever think aout commiting a major sin.He knows that he wants to go to heaven and not to hell.

dante is afraid of hell, he has fainted a couple of times already. he himself is guilty of some of these sins, it is not like he isnt going to sin for the rest of his life, but he will probably try not to. he will most likely start leading a better life and definatley advoid all major sins and ask for forgiveness before he dies.

Though i agree with everyone else i think that Dante has learned to believe that Hell is a real place and that many people that are there were not just there for being evil or because they spent there life killing everyone but because they did things that God despised. He also gained a large advantage and choosing how to live out the rest of his life.

I agree with Mike in the sense that when Dante wrote this, he realized that, he sure is not going to be one of them who was suffering down below. Also, I believe that Dante wanted to write in order to let people know that if they want to live their life poorly and not religiously with God, then people would read this and know how terrible it really is down there. Dante noticed that he wish he did not have to see the people he knew down there suffering because he wished they had lived a good life and that hopefully this book will help those who struggle to find the right path that leads to Jesus Christ.

I believe Dante learned the different ways that you would have to go to hell. If you ask forgiveness before you die, you would have a better chance of getting into heaven. He also discovered who he would know that would be going down to hell. This was also an eye-opener for him on what he shouldn’t do because many common sins could get you into hell.

I think that Dante has learned alot from his journeys in Inferno, such as the in's and out's of hell. I say this because Dante see's the punishments that was being taken place. Also, Dante knows the types of sins that got alot of people in Hell. Everything that Dante has been through is like a message showing him that this is not the place to be.

I believe that dante learns that hell is not the place everyone always makes it out to be. When we think of hell we think of fire and heat and everyone being tortured terribly. But he sees that there is a different and fit punishment for each crime and everyone's is not always god awful.

Dante learned that hell is nowhere u would want to be because Dante showed a little sad side for some of the people that were being punished. He learned that by your crime you will be punish. For example, people who were flatters were put in a sea of crap.

Dante learned that Hell is not the place for him to be. I think that Dante got a better understanding of what could happen to him if he had went to Hell. He learned of the different levels of Hell and what sins on Earth could affect him in Hell. By seeing these punishments, it probably intimidated him. This could be beneficial to him and make him think of the consequences if he commits sins on Earth. Dante definitely learned that he might have similarities with the people in Hell, but he knows that he has time to change that.

I beilive that he learned that all types of people have sinned. And no one is perfect so he should start repenting & change his ways so God will feel that he has made the neccesary adjustments to go to heaven

I think Dante learned that he needs to watch what he does in life so that he would not have to go through all the punishments that he witnessed. Now he believes that hell is really real and is not a good place.

Dante has learned how to become a better man. While traviling through hell Dante has seen the punishmnets for all the sins that he might have committed.

I think that Dante learned a lot from his journey. The journey gave him an understanding of the after life, and how peolpe get rewarded for their actions, and punished. Dante learned what he needed to do to keep himself out of Hell. I belive that he wrote this poetry to give people a heads up, of what is really out there.

Dante learned and realize how serious faith is and the things he do can hurt him and put him in a place where he doesnt want to be,HELL.

I think that Dante learned the importance of repentance while he was in hell. In the 8th circle we see Dante meet Guido de Montifeltro. Guido was in hell because he told the pope how to slaughter an entire village. The pope told him, however, that his sins would be absolved because he was helping the Church. Because of this, Guido never repented for his sins. Dante now realizes how important repentance actually is.

I believe that Dante learned how easy it is to end up in Hell. As Dante travels through Hell he is shown felling pity towards some of the souls that were sent there, wondering if that person really deserved that type of punishment in his or her afterlife.

Dante also realized that he may need to go back to his life and relieve himself of some of the sins he committed, because it became clear in the poem that Dante feared what Hell had to offer.

In response to Parker, some people prfer the idea of hell over heaven. There are some that believe a hellish exsistance of damnation will bring you closer to hell, which they are right. and what about Lucifer a good example of someone who can make hell whatever he wish it to be, he isnt neccessarily bound to it but choses to be where he can rule.

I think Dante learned in his journeys that we can’t take life and the actions we make for granted. As Catholics, we are told that if we do something wrong and we are sorry that God will forgive us and the people in Hell probably thought that they could get away with their actions if they pretended they were sorry.

What i think that Dante learned in his journey throught the Inferno is that he knows what not to do in life that will get him to hell. And he also learned what were the worst sins to commit and the not so bad sins, and which punishment goes with which sin.

Julian Jimenez said...

I think Dante learned that Hell is a evil place that has crazy punishments for the sins that the people did while they were alive. This shows him that he needs to clean up his act and start becoming good because he doesnt want to be in hell for ever. It also shows him that he needs to repent for his sins before he dies because Guido Da Montrefeltro shows him by example.

I think the biggest lesson that Dante has learned is how real Hell actually is. It's like the proverb, "you never know what someone is really like until you have walked a mile in their shoes." No one can really image something as dreadful as hell until you have actually experienced it.

I believe that Dante learned about how to live a better life. I also think he was able to find out was his own problems were, and since he sees what happens to people who commit those crimes, he will go back to the world working to fix his the problems that he has.

First of all, I think Dante is insane if he thinks he actually saw all of this in vivid detail. I think he had a dream about some of it, and put some pieces of the puzzle together when he was writing it. If he did believe this was the real Hell than it probably made him straighten up his life so he could get into heaven.

Dante the pilgrim has learned that Hell is not for worth your enternal rest in. Its just not good. THough there are many people on earth dead or alive dont care becuase of their beliefs. So far he has seen a lot of people, talk to some familiar faces. He has learned what the punishment is and everything about it. So it should be obvious, that He doesn't want to go down this death row but live life to the fullest as a believer in the Almighty God.

I believe that Dante learned that their are ten different circles of Hell and the type of sin represented in each circle. He also learned that the lower the circle the worse the sin was that the people committed.

i believe that daute learned how to keep hisself out of hell and keep him out of trouble. His wife made him travel through hell to get her to make him realize all the wrongs that he had done and the place he would end up if he were to commit one of the offenses. so i think he has learned a valuble lesson.

I beleive that Dante learned many life and moral lessons on his journey through Hell. I think that he learned that obviously nobody is perfect, but not everyone just gets admitted to heaven. He learned that you should always try to be the best person that you can. On the other hand though, I think that he learned that if you do sin, that you should always repent for your actions and truly ask for forgiveness.

I think that Dante learned about the crimes that you can go to Hell for and that the worse your crime the worse the punishment. He also learned that the punishment usually relates to the crime that was committed in a way.

Dante learned that he doesn't want to go to hell. He hopefully learned that he must do him best on earth to be granted access to heaven. He needs to ask God to forgive him of his sins because doesn't know when he will die. That tragic day can come when ever and he now realizes what happens to people whos sins are not forgiven.

Dante has learned alot on his journey through hell. He has learned about the different sins and punishments in hell, and how terrible a place it is. Most importantly though, Dante has learned that he needs to turn his life around, turn away from his sins, repent, and live a more virtuous life. Dante is not a terrible person and everybody makes mistakes, but a person must be repentant in their heart and try to do better the next time to avoid hell and make it into heaven.

The important thing that I think Dante was supposed to get out on his journey through hell was how to change. Change his life on earth so he can and will be able to skip hell and go straight to heaven. Also I think it was also as if Dante was being given a second chance in a way. He was able to go and see what his destiny might turn out to be. In seeing this he is now able to change his ways and become a better person so he can get to heaven and be with Beatrice

I belive that Dante learned that this is not a place that he wants to be and that he needs to live his life better. He knows that if he kepts living the life that he is going he is going to end up in one of the circles and not with the girl of his dreams that he wants to be with in heaven. He also learned what it meant to be a catholic and the rules that you have to follow.

I think that Dante learned a lot from Virgil and his tour of hell. He saw all the wrong things in hell and how people were being punished. He learned that if you do a wrong and you know that it is wrong you should not do it. Basically common sense. But Dante wrote on about it to show and tell the world of what his knowledge is this. He showed the world that hell is not a nice place and that hell should be a dreaded place and not a place that people should want to go to.

Dante learned many different things that he didnt know about hell so he wanted to keep writing so that he could tell us about the information he has gathered. Dante learned that what not to do in order to keep himself from going into hell. He learned his true self and people that were in hell that he thought would never be there.

Dante learned that Hell is not a place that he wants to end up for the rest of time. He saw all the bad things that go on in hell and he did not like them at all. Dante was so upset about some of the things that he saw on his trip that it made him cry over some of the punishments he saw the people going through.

I believe Dante took home only a handful of knowledge he did not already know. Even then what he "learned" was already known and just simply was brought to light. Since it was a dream he already knew everything; the dream was simply revealing what his subconscious already believed. Yet, if I was to say he learned something it would have to believe that it was that God is very judging when it comes to our actions. There were people in Hell for very minor offenses. When Dante saw this he had to have seen the very fine line God has drawn between good and evil.

During his journeys in the Inferno I think Dante learned a lot about himself and about what God considers a sin even though we as people may not always consider these sins to actually be sins. One of the most important things that Dante learns is that you and yourself alone are responsible for what you do. In Hell it does not matter who convinced you to sin or the reason you sinned; if what you did on earth was a sin then you will ultimately be punished for the wrongs that you did on earth.

Dante pretty much thinks he now knows all the things that will lead people to Hell. So the next time, in his mortal life, he thinks about doing something bad, he'll remember where exactly he'll end up and what exact punishment he will have. After his journey i think that Dante will lead a more carefull and God-fearing life.
