Could it happen?

Do you think a Brave New World mindset would ever happen in the future?

Yes, it could definitely happen. Technology wise we are almost there, in fact we might already be able to clone people (but the government could keep it secret from us).My response to the argument:"most people have morals and would never let it happen". We let the holocaust happen. Besides, opinions change, many years ago people thought it was taboo to see a woman's ankle; nowadays no one has a problem with that. Many people would think it is positive to create humans, everyone would be comfortable in their class and every job would have the perfect worker.

Yes, I think that it can happen because our society is stupid enough to do something like this. By doing this our society will be sinning because we are not suppose to create babies we are supposed to do it the natural way. This is starting to happen even now with new technology with can give people arms or legs that they never had. I think that our world will never be perfect though.

Yes, i feel this type of life style could happen. I think it could happen because of how rapidly the technology in our world is evolving.

Yes, it could happen in the near future. We are creating new technology to clone animals and pretty soon we could create babies in a factory.

I think it could happen, but most likely won't. If it does, It will be different. The whole sexual freedom and Soma will probably not be there. Love is something that is always going to stick around. The advancement in technology and the manufacturing of children is very possible and likely for the future. I do think the book has features that are possibilities for the future but I don't think this society is likely to exist in the real world.

I think that the this could happen in the future because the tools and technology will only advance. Especially the assembly line is a definite possibility because there are more ideas with the cloning and stem cell research. Also the soma could possibly happen because we always improve on things and create things without bad effects.

Yes, I do believe this could happen. We are already noticing that science and technology are growing tremendously and new things/ideas are being developed everyday. It is possible and it may happen.

I absolutely believe this could happen. In some sense it has already begun by t.v. telling people what is cool and popular. There is already a very small (but growing) control in the industries and media. DON'T FALL FOR IT AND ALWAYS BE YOURSELF TO PREVENT THIS!!!

It isn't very hard to believe that this could happen somewhere, but I don't ever think that humans will be reproduced in a factory or have their lives influenced so much by sexual activity. Although we are making technological advances everyday and anything can happen.

Yes, and No. I believe that the technological aspect of the book could occur in the future; just look at how far we've gotten since the beginning of the 20th century. While we may have the technology to mature human fetuses outside of the womb, I think that because of the ethical consequences, humans may not be willing to let such things happen. I do believe that the idea of using helicopters as personal transportation may become a reality in the future.

I dont believe that the society in the Book could ever stand alone. The people would eventually rebel and take over. One person could not make all those decision that the World Leaders like Mustapha Mond had to do. They would not keep everyone out of their business long enough to control whats goin on. Also I believe that there are too many troubled people out there to just send off to a island. And even before we could get to that point I don't think that our technology would get to the point where they we could stunt someones growth and allow them to be ranked.

No, I do not believe that the mindset of the Brave New World novel would ever happen in the future because people are always striving towards more freedoms in their lives in today's world. The whole idea of present in the book is a lack of freedom a lack of personality or choice. People in the world that we live in today would never stand for the principles of having not control over their own lives. Our society is almost the exact opposite of this and I can not see any circumstance which would cause for such a drastic changing of the guard in the entire population of the world.

I think that it is a very slim chance of it happening. I think it does have a small chance because there is a high percentage of americans that are lazy and this live provides little to no worrying and work. But I highly doubt it could happen.

I think that we could be on the same technilogical level as the people in Brave New World. But the morality I don't think we could ever get to that extreme of moral values. People just care about each other way to much for us to not cry when somebody close to us dies. So I think that yes and no the events in Brave New World could(n't) happen.

I think that this could definately happen in the future because our society is constantly trying to be at its best. I think that if it got this way then it would be a big downfall for our nation though.

I do think that a concept and mindset like in brave new world could happen in the future. I feel this way because I think that this concept really is a lot like communism. I feel that this mindset started with someone having an idea of a perfect society where everybody does the same things, and I think that it really could branch off of communism. I also think that this society could deffinitley occur because in this story people are trying to create humans and today there are people today who are trying to clone humans.

I think that The Brave New world could not happen in the future. There has to be a trace of some God figure in the future and I don’t think people would switch from Jesus to Henry Ford. Although, I do think that eventually in the future that we will be able to clone humans from birth or even make them but the possibility of everyone not procreating is, to me, slim.
