The Man at the end of The Road

Do you think that the man that came and got the boy knew to come? Secondly, do you think that they saved the other little boy that the main boy saw in that abandoned town?

The man that shows up at the end of this novel is extremely mysterious. I have a feeling that this man is related somehow to the person who tried to shoot them with the bow and arrow. The man must have been waiting for the father to eventually die so that he can take the boy, maybe in hopes that he could create a new civilization from the remaining children in the world. Whether or not the other little boy is the same one that the boy saw in the other city doesn't really matter. The fact is that this man has found other children, and he is collecting them for some disputable reason.

The man at the end of the book might have been following the man and boy throughout the book for all i know, keeping behind them hoping the man knew where to go, maybe knowing he was sick or wounded and just waiting to save the boy, knowing that The Man wouldn't give him up without a fight, fearing he might be a cannibal. and as for the children the man has with him, they way the author of the book writs that scene, he seems to directly hint that it is the boy from the town so long ago, maybe proving more so that the new man had been following them all along.

I think the man did know to come get the boy because it seems weird that at as soon as the boy's father dies that the man all of a sudden shows up out of the blue. I agree with Davies about how the man must have been following these 2 for quite sometime. I think the guy knew that the father would never trust him and try to kill him so he waited until he died to confront the boy. I think the other boy is the same one because it would prove that this group has been following them for quite sometime.

Yes, i think that the man had some instintive guide telling him to come to find the boy. In the world they live not many people would just pick up a strange kid from the middel of no where.

The man at the end of the book seems like the man in kite runner that was protecting the lil kids.
But I think the man is trying to look out for the well being of the children. It is kinda strange that the man has been following the little boy and his father around though he seems like one of them Michael Jackson type of people but just going around and collecting kids.

I think that the man didnt know to come, but by coincidence the man met up with the boy. I think they did save the other boy in the abandoned town.

I really have no clue, but when I read the ending I thought it was really odd. It makes you think alot about it thought. My first thought was I wondering if that man was following them the whole time, or maybe it was a friend of the Man's and the Man told him to follow just in case he died. I do not think they are going to go back and save the kid from the town. I believe they are going to go find a nice place to live and try to rebuild the nation with help from everyone else.

I think that they came to the boy because maybe they knew something about him that his father did not know about. Like his ways, they saw how he acted, and wanted to help people so they followed him for a reason. Second he probably did find that other little boy and took him in because he wanted to start something, maybe a new cult I am not sure.

I believe the man at the end of the book was, like the man, unsure about where he was going, so he decided to follow the man and the boy hoping that they knew where they were going. He was most likely afraid of the man, but not afraid of the boy, which would explain why he didn't show up until the man died.

The man coming into the picture at the end was a little strange. I think that he was following the two them for some time and was just waiting for the man to die. I am not really sure what he is going to do with the boy, but if I had to say I think that he is part of some cult and is going to try and get the boy in that direction.

Yes i feel that the man new to come get the boy when he saw he was in trouble to save him. I also think that they did not save the other boy it just happened.

I think the man was following them for a while because he had seen the father coughing and knew he was going to die soon. It would be cool if he had saved the other boy too because then the main character boy would have a brother right around his age and he would be happy because when he saw that other boy earlier in the book and his father wouldn't help him, he felt really guilty.

I think that the group following the man and boy were "the good guys" and knew that the man was near death and they would have to take the boy in soon. The man who picked the boy up after the father died seemed to have been following the two for quite some time. I do not think there was a boy in the abandoned town the man and boy passed; I think it was a figure of the boy’s imagination symbolizing how lonely the boy was.

The man that shows up at the end of the novel for the boy has me in a think tank. But you know how people just get a gut feeling to do something and they are right, the man could had just got some type of feeling to go to him.

I think that the man showing up at the end of the novel is playing into the belief that the boy is going off to be the savior and build a civilization and the such, I dont think that the other boy had been saved due to the lack of reference to it.

The man that came to The Boy's rescue was a very interesting introduction to the story. It makes you question whether he was following the pair since he knew about them before he saw The Boy on the road. He did not seem upset that The Man was dead which means that he only really wanted to save the boy or that he had became calloused to death because of the period. His appearance sparked so many questions and gave few answers.

I think that the man did know to come to the boy because it seems to coincidental that he came when the father died. But we'll never know because the way he writes the book he doesn't give any definitive answers. But I think that the other little boy was not saved because these people seemed like they are stationed near where they found the main boy.

I feel like that man was like the Foxy Cleopatra girl from Omega Man, she was watching the man’s every moves and when he was captured she saved him. Just like the man saved the boy after Papa died.

I have to say that I do agree with Joey on this one. The man showed up very mysteriously and it was as if he had been there for a while and was just waiting for the father to die. But, no i do not think that they saved the other little boy. They were following this boy and this man for a reason and if this boy wasnt so important than why follow them. It was not like the boy was in any harm with his dad, it was the fact that they knew something about the boy that he didnt even know

I would have to say that man was so mysterious to me cause he just came out of nowhere. Also I do think that was the same litle boy from before but that doesnt matter really. In my opinion the man is up to no good just like everybody else were.

I do not think that the stranger knew to come and save the boy after the boy's father passed away. But at the same time I think the new man may have been guided to go to that exact place at that exact time by some force. I do not believe that the boy will return to save the boy that they saw in the abandoned town because s number of very dramatic events have recently occurred in the boy's life leaving him thinking about those events rather than saving the young abandoned boy.

I don't think that the man knew to come. How would the guy that came to save the boy know exactly where the boy was so that he could save him. I think that they did go to save the boy in the abandoned town so that he could live.
